Adventure Holiday Salzkammergut
Of paramount importance for adventure sports of all types in the Salzkammergut are the majestic mountains, the crystal-clear rivers and lakes and the pure air.
Rafting
A fantastic experience for everyone - feel the power of water on an unforgettable rafting tour. Roaring rapids, sparkling water, and magnificent scenery along the banks of the river. And experience all of this at first hand rather than from the banks. Rafting means riding the waves on a boat and control the torrent with just a paddle. On a raft everyone is literally 'in the same boat', so a joint effort is needed if the river isn't to gain the upper hand.

Diving
Sometimes you can't be sure what lies hidden in the turquoise-blue waters of an Austrian lake. Priceless treasures maybe? Yes indeed, if the locals are to be believed. Upper-Austria's mystical lakes are held to be full of secrets. No wonder therefore that diving in their crystal-clear waters and discovering the fascinating wildlife and plants beneath is becoming increasingly popular.
Diving at Attersee
Attersee is 47 km² large and Austria's largest lake. Due to the purity of its water (drinking-water quality), Attersee has become an El Dorado for fresh water divers and consequently Austria's main diving centre.
Diving at Grundlsee
Grundlsee is very popular with divers
Diving at Altausseer See
Divers find this lake interesting primarily due to its enormous variety of fish. The best diving area is the front part of the lake where the underwater forest is located - a good hiding place for countless fish.
Diving at Mondsee
Dive with us into a fascinating underwater world... Beautiful rock formations and caves can be found in the western shore area between Scharfling and Plomberg. During the summer, bathing temperatures at Mondsee are mostly pleasant, and its banks are lined with dense vegetation.
Diving at Hallstättersee
Water is the origin of life and the past begins underwater - including at Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Of particular interest is the fact that viewing ranges of 5 - 20 m are possible the whole year round in the source area. At a depth of 42 m in front of the landing place at Lerchenbach lies an American jeep. Other highlights include car wrecks, steep cliffs and the "Mun-Halde".
Diving at Gosausee
Gosausee is a small mountain lake with very refreshing, crystal-clear waters. Standing in the shadow of the Salzkammergut's highest peak – the Dachstein – it is one of region's favourite photo spots. The lake is at its clearest just before the first snowfalls of the season.

Diving at Traunsee
Located in the wildly romantic setting of Traunstein- Erlakogel-Sonnsteinmassiv, Traunsee, the deepest of the Salzkammergut lakes, is a true haven for the practised diver. Whether it be the fascinating steep rock faces of the southern and eastern shores, or the flat terraces deposited with sediment in the northern part of the lake – some even deposited with fresh water fungi – it is quite simply a fascinating stretch of water. However, due to the predominantly steep walls, it should only be explored by experienced divers.
Diving at Wolfgangsee
The depth increases from west to east, the deepest point (114 m) lying south of Sappl. The water is of drinking quality. Visibility is good: in the flat areas five to ten metres. Underneath is a cloudy layer with visibility of only one to two meters; at a depth of 15 m and lower, however, the water becomes clear again, but a torch will be needed. Lush vegetation as far down as six meters.

The Salzkammergut has grown into a true haven for international balloonists, with the lake district and its spectacular mountain backdrop providing passengers with spectacular and fascinating views.
Freedom means:
crawling out of bed very early in the morning, long before sunrise; quickly grabbing a cup of coffee to wake oneself up; plonking oneself behind the steering-wheel of the car and setting off when the first signs of daylight appear in the east. The reason for putting oneself through this: a date with the sun.
Flights normally take place in the early morning, rarely in the afternoon. 4 - 6 people, group voyages also possible. A balloon trip lasts around 1 1/2 hours.
