High above Traunsee, on a beautifully situated plateau, there are more than 50 km of hiking paths. The stunning panoramic views and cosy mountain inns mean that hiking here is no ordinary experience. You can reach the Feuerkogel either by cable railway or by walking for 3 hours.
Feuerkogel cable railway
Even when ascending the Feuerkogel on the cable railway, the view is breathtakingly beautiful, encompassing Ebensee, Traunsee and the Salzkammergut with its magnificent mountain scenery.

The European Cross on the Feuerkogel
This cross is made up of cubes, each of which symbolizes an EU member state and is identical in terms of shape and size in order to reflect the equality and unity of all the states in the EU as well as the connections that exist between them.
