Physio Floating massage
The massage
In 1999 this underwater massage was developed by Dr. König in Austria for the treatment of complicated back complaints.
The procedure
First of all oil is rubbed into the guest’s arms, lower legs and neck and afterwards the guest is placed on a flotation device in a large spa pool.
A special pillow under the guest’s head and a roll under the knees lead to a fully relaxed spine and a free floating position.
The therapist then examines your back for tension and only after this starts giving a foot massage. After mobilising your hips, your arms and shoulders are massaged and mobilized, and finally your neck and back are massaged.
The weightlessness allows the therapist to work in a three-dimensional spiral manner on the spine and the large joints, which is not possible in this manner and this intensively on land. All the techniques can be individually applied from very gentle to very intensive.
Clothing
The massage is carried out in the water on special flotation devices. The guest and therapist wear bathing costumes. For females ties or straps that cross in the neck area are considered to be a hindrance for the neck massage.
